Please join the Women in Architecture Committee's (Wi A) for the very popular Speed Mentoring event, modeled after speed-dating.
However, it can also result in an attempt to chance upon the right person when the best mentor for you is not even in the room, never mind one of the six individuals that you will get to talk to during the event.
We get to know you and the mentor to ensure that we match on personality as well as factors such as industry knowledge, stage of business, functional skills, etc and that the mentoring provides for two-way learning.
Once matched with a mentor, we will monitor and evaluate the relationship, acting as an ongoing point of contact throughout.
Since there were more women who wanted to be mentored than available mentors, the mentees were put into groups with two mentors as facilitators.
But when Michelle Ferguson, the senior vice president of international operations of Mc Graw-Hill Education, developed a program that originally had a similar goal for its mentoring program, she ended up with a completely different format.
